Product F.A.Q.

Washing Water

Cold Water for all colored items. Warm water is generally safe for whites, but cold is still best to prevent shrinkage

Heat causes cotton fibers to contract and shrink, especially the first few washes. Cold water also prevents color bleeding.

Washing Cycle

Normal or Cotton setting is usually fine, as cotton is a durable fiber.

This cycle uses a longer wash and higher agitation, which is effective for cleaning cotton.

Pre-Wash Prep Turn inside out. Pre-treat stains immediately.

Turning inside out protects the outer fabric surface from abrasion and pilling.

Drying MethodAir Dry (Line Dry) is the best choice to ensure no shrinkage.

High heat in the dryer is the main culprit for cotton shrinkage. If you use a machine, select the Low Heat or Air Fluff setting.

IroningIron while the garment is still slightly damp or use steam.

Cotton wrinkles easily but can handle a medium to high heat iron setting (higher than the cotton/poly blend).

READ THE TAG

Always check the garment's specific tag first. Sweatpants may have unique finishes, drawstrings, or fleece lining

The tag will tell you if there are any "Dry Clean Only" instructions or other specific limits.

Pre-Wash Prep

Turn inside out (crucial for sweats) and fasten any drawstrings or zippers.

Turning inside out prevents pilling/fuzzing on the surface, which is common with cotton-poly fleece.

Washing Cycle Cold or Warm Water on a Normal or Permanent Press cycle.

Cold water prevents fading and shrinkage of the cotton. Warm water is okay for light stains. Polyester can be damaged by extremely hot water.

Detergent Use a mild laundry detergent. Avoid using too much.

Excess detergent can cling to the polyester fibers, trapping odors and making the fabric stiff.

Fabric Softener Avoid fabric softener or use it very sparingly.

Fabric softener can coat synthetic fibers (like polyester), reducing the wicking properties and trapping sweat/odors over time.

Drying MethodAir Dry or Tumble Dry Low/No Heat. Remove promptly when done.

High heat is the biggest enemy. It can cause the cotton to shrink, melt or weaken the polyester fibers, and contribute to permanent wrinkles.

Wrinkle CareIf wrinkled, use a steamer or iron on a low-heat setting.

Polyester melts easily. Always iron on the reverse side on the lowest setting marked for "Synthetics" or "Poly."

Feature 42% Cotton / 58% Polyester Blend

100% Cotton

Main Concern

High heat damage to polyester and pilling.

Shrinkage from heat and fading.

Drying Heat

MUST be Low Heat / Air Dry.

Low Heat is best, but moderate heat is sometimes tolerated.

Fabric Softener

Avoid (can trap odors in polyester).

Safe to use, but still optional.

Ironing

Low Heat Only (Synthetic setting).

Medium to High Heat is safe (Cotton setting).

Baseball Cap (Plastic Brim)Hand-wash is safest. Soak in cool, soapy water with mild detergent. Gently scrub with a soft brush. Can be washed on a gentle cycle in a hat cage/frame or top rack of a dishwasher (no heat dry).

Air dry only. Reshape while damp by putting it over a round object (like a jar or ball of towels). Do not use a dryer.

Vintage or Cardboard Brim CapSpot-clean only! Do not submerge. Use a damp cloth and mild soap to dab the dirty areas.

Air dry. Keep its shape by resting it upside-down on the crown.
